Children's Links receive funding for aged 16-24 year olds to access Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships within Children's Services. Those accessing an Apprenticeship will enrol onto a programme, during which they will complete an NVQ, key skills and a technical certificate relevant to their area of study, as well as a technical course on occupation awareness.
Occupational areas offered:-
Playwork - "Out of School Childcare/Play provision" which may include Breakfast Clubs, Holiday Play schemes, Out of School Clubs, Youth Centres or Open Access Play Centres (eg: Adventure Playgrounds)
Children's Care, Learning and Development - Nursery, Pre-school, Crèche, Primary School (foundation stage)
Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (Teaching Assistant) - Primary or Secondary School
The programme is on going and people can enrol throughout the year. The duration of the programme will be between 1-2 years, dependant on the particular apprenticeship accessed.
