From heartwarming moments in our Contact Centres to exciting developments in our childcare settings, the past few months have been full of achievements and milestones for Children’s Links. Here’s a look at some of our recent news!
💍 A First for Peterborough Contact Centre: A Marriage Proposal!
On 5th April, our Peterborough Contact Centre witnessed its first-ever marriage proposal!
The couple, who have monthly supervised contact with their children, chose to share the moment during one of their visits. With support from the children’s grandparents, the proposal took place in a safe and supportive environment.

💬 Kind Words for the Peterborough Contact Team
We were proud to receive this heartfelt message from a parent following their experience of supervised contact at our Peterborough Centre: “You and your team have shown nothing but professionalism, understanding, kindness and compassion. I would recommend you and your team to anyone. I appreciate everything you have done over these last months.” – P.
Well done to Angie and the whole team for the care and support you provide to families – your work truly makes a difference.
🌟 Outdoor Transformations at RAF Waddington Out of School Club (OOSC)
Thanks to funding from the Lincolnshire County Council Wraparound Programme, RAF Waddington OOSC now boasts:
An amazing new Sensory Shed
A Mud Kitchen from Reformed Plastics Co
An enhanced outdoor space for children to explore and enjoy

🌐 Our New Website is Here!
On 9th July 2025, we launched this brand new Children’s Links website, giving it a fresh look and making it easier to explore our services, news, and opportunities!
👉 Also coming soon: our 2024–2025 Impact Report is nearly ready! We’re just making a few final tweaks, and it should be published on the website within the next month. 😊

✅ Children’s Links Training Team Achieves Matrix Accreditation!
We’re proud to have achieved the Matrix Standard, recognising the high-quality information, advice and guidance our Training Team provides to help individuals reach their aspirations.
A huge well done to everyone involved in this brilliant accomplishment! 👏
🧸 Teddy Bears’ Picnic Day Success
The 10th July was Teddy Bears’ Picnic Day, and we’ve got some amazing updates from some of our settings that took part!:
RAF Waddington OOSC welcomed parents for a Stay & Play and raised £206.20 for Children’s Links.
Shining Stars Nursery, Wainfleet enjoyed a fun-filled outdoor event for children and families.
The Toy Library in Lincoln ran teddy-themed crafts, biscuit decorating, and hidden voucher surprises.
A huge thank you and well done to everyone who helped make the day so special!

🎉 New Derby Contact Centre Opening September 2025
We are delighted to announce that our Derby Contact Centre will open in September 2025. Run to NACCC (National Association of Child Contact Centres) standards, it will offer a safe and supportive environment for families across the Derby area.
👤 The Centre Contact is Jordan Jones, who will be happy to help with any enquiries. We're proud to extend our support to more families and look forward to opening soon!
