As we move into spring, we’re pleased to share some of the highlights from the past few months at Children’s Links.
🌼 Hello Spring!
With longer days, brighter skies, and colour beginning to appear everywhere, spring is finally on its way. We’ve been out and about across Lincolnshire recently, spotting some of the first signs of the season!
It’s also a great time to take a few moments for your wellbeing. Getting outside for a short walk – even just 5–10 minutes – can make a real difference, especially when you can enjoy a bit of sunlight and fresh air.

Making a Difference
🧡 Positive Feedback for Our Contact Centres
“Just wanted to say thank you to your staff at the centre. My child and I spent a few Saturday mornings in their care. The support, understanding, empathy and professionalism they showed us both was just what we needed. It enabled us to feel at ease and able to spend quality time together. Without volunteers, I don't know what we would do. So sincere, heartfelt thanks to all involved.”
“I had my court case… and I am now allowed to see the kids in normal conditions. Thank you to you and your team for all your help and support – it is much appreciated.”
Moments like these remind us why this work matters – supporting families to move forward and build brighter futures together. 💛
🌟 Growing Confidence Through Numeracy
A learner who first joined us through our ‘Science of Happiness’ course has gone on to make fantastic progress in both confidence and skills.
The learner said:
“I found I understand measuring, counting and subtracting so much more.”
“I feel lots more confident.”

👨👩👧 Supporting Children & Families
💐 Mother’s Day Crafts at Peterborough Contact Centre
Families at our Peterborough Contact Centre were getting creative in the run up to Mother’s Day! 🫖
Children took part in a special craft activity making Mother’s Day teapots and cards for the important people in their lives – whether that’s mums, nans, guardians or foster carers.

🌐 New Online Safety Website
A new government kids’ online safety website has launched to help families talk about what children are seeing online. It includes:
• Tips to help start conversations
• Practical advice for every stage of your child’s life
• Guidance on using parental controls
• Links to trusted organisations for further support

🤝 Working with Our Communities
💙 Tesco Blue Token Voting
Last month, we had a brilliant time at Tesco Wragby Road in Lincoln promoting the Blue Token Scheme!
Lots of customers stopped to say hello and spin our prize wheel, with chances to win free play sessions at our Toy Library, bubbles, chocolates and rubber ducks 🫧🍫🦆
It was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of our Toy Library and chat to families about what we offer.

🎙️ Children’s Links on BBC Radio Lincolnshire!
Our lovely colleague Yvonne joined Frances Finn on BBC Radio Lincolnshire on the 4th February to talk about our Science of Happiness course. ✨
The four-week course shares practical, evidence-based ways to support wellbeing and build positive habits. It offers a light-hearted, discussion-based approach, exploring happiness habits and how changing the way we talk to ourselves can help develop a more positive mindset.

🎉 Celebrating Our People
🎉 Celebrating Jane’s 20 Years at RAF Waddington OOSC
On the 26th Feb, the team at RAF Waddington Out of School Club came together to celebrate an incredible milestone – Jane’s 20 years of service!
Over the past two decades, Jane has been a constant at the setting, supporting children, families and colleagues with dedication and care.

💛 Fundraising & Support
🎉 Fundraising Highlights
It’s been a fantastic few months for fundraising across Children’s Links services.
In Skegness, Shining Stars Nursery brought staff and supporters together for a fun-filled quiz night, kindly hosted by Artisan Coffee Design, raising £400.
Meanwhile, children at Scampton Nursery took part in a festive Reindeer Run, raising an incredible £638.50.
These events not only raised valuable funds but also brought people together in support of children, families and communities. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and made these efforts such a success!
